Gypsy’s Lotions & Potions was destined well before I ever imagined it! From growing up and working on our family-owned herb farm, the largest in Northeast Ohio during its time, to earning a Cosmetology license, graduating from the University of Maryland with a BA in Human Resources, and serving in our great military for nearly 23 years, little did I realize all these experiences were paving the way to my greater potential.
Early Influences and Foundational Experiences
My journey started on our family herb farm in Northeast Ohio. The farm was a massive operation back in the day, and working there gave me tons of knowledge about natural ingredients. Helping out with the herb cultivation and harvesting really set the stage for my future in skin care.
After high school, I got my Cosmetology license since I was super into beauty and wellness. This license let me dive deeper into skin and hair treatments. I didn’t stop there; I went on to the University of Maryland, where I got a BA in Human Resources. This degree helped me learn how to manage and lead effectively, gearing me up for running a business.
A Military Career: Discipline and Dedication
I spent nearly 23 years in the military, which taught me discipline and dedication. The training and experiences I had there shaped my leadership and strategic planning skills, which turned out to be really handy when I started my own business.
The Birth of Gypsy’s Lotions & Potions
By 2016, I was fed up with overpriced and ineffective skincare products that were messing up my skin. So, I decided to start my own skincare line. I was spending a ton of money on products that actually made my skin drier and itchier than ever. Enough was enough!
Research and Revelations
I started researching ways to help with my own skin conditions (eczema and extreme dry skin due to Hypothyroidism) and my daughter's skin issues. During my research, I found out that lots of ingredients in commercial products were making our skin problems worse! Crazy, right?
I dove into scientific studies and dermatological advice, learning all about harmful additives, synthetics, and chemicals in skin care products. These ingredients were making things worse, not better.
Crafting the Perfect Solutions
With all this knowledge, I decided to create a skin careline that was effective, natural, and affordable. Gypsy's Lotions & Potions became my passion project, with products made from high-quality, natural ingredients. Each product is designed to provide relief, nourishment, and rejuvenation for all kinds of skin types and conditions.
